BrietlingB55 Connected, the instrument of the future.
Brietling has substantially increases the comfort and efficiency of it's timeless chronographs by adding a smartphone to the equation.
The ultimate token of precision, Brietling has elaborated a new philosophy when creating its first connected chronograph, now it’s the smartphone that enhances the watch’s functionality and conviviality.
Since 1884, Brietling has played a central role in the elaboration of high-quality wrist chronographs, and has become a leader of its field thanks to its constant quest for innovation. The brand accompanied the boom of competitive sports and of the automobile – as well as the first feats of the aviation pioneers. One of the last remaining independent Swiss watch brands, it’s also one of the few that equips all its models with chronometer-certified movements, all entirely developed and manufactured in its own workshops.
Back in 2014, Breitling created Caliber B50, an electronic multifunction chronograph movement with analog and digital displays. It offered pilots an extensive range of advanced functions, together with unparalleled ease of use and read-off. But better yet, the Caliber B50 laid the foundation for the development of a mission now accomplished with the launch of the B55 Connected, the latest connected chronograph.
Brietling’s new watch is a phone-dependant extension, where smartphone and chronograph work in unison to form a perfectly complementary pair in which each is used for what it does best, using two-way communication to improve its user friendliness. The smartphone acts as a platform to perform certain adjustments (time-setting, time zones, alarms, display and operating parameters, night mode, etc.). Measurement results may also be uploaded from the chronograph to the smartphone, enabling the user to access them more easily, store them or forward them on. The result is a substantial increase in comfort and efficiency.
The B55 Connected is also distinguished by its ultra-technical look, based on a titanium case with black carbon-based coating and a dial adorned with a blue wireless symbol. This original blue and black theme continues on the sturdy rubber strap.
