Are you a nature lover? Do you like open landscapes but could comfortably live in a reduced space? There is a time in our life when we stop to rethink our priorities, and maybe it is time for you to follow nature’s call and live the wild life you always craved. Maybe it’s time for you to leave everything behind and get lost in the immensity of the world, because with the new Ecocapsule living off the grid just became easier.

The Ecocapsule is a low-energy house packed into an egg-shaped compact form that merges off-grid capabilities with the luxuries of a warm bed, running water and a hot meal. Despite its small size (HxLxW: 2.55×4.45×2.25m), this modern survival capsule houses two adults and is fitted with all the essentials necessary for a comfortable and prolonged stay without needing to recharge or re-supply. Thanks to its efficient spatial layout, there is plenty of storage space that will fit all your equipment, while its spherical shape optimizes the collection of rainwater and dew; built-in water filters allow you to utilize any water source.

A high-capacity battery powered by a built-in wind turbine complemented with an array of solar cells ensure that you will have enough power during periods of reduced solar or wind activity. To get a better idea of how efficient this house is: with only 2.6 m2 of high-efficiency solar cells and a retractable pole holding a 750W wind turbine, you will have enough power to support you almost an entire year in many off-grid locations.

Hot showers, built-in kitchenettes with running water, flushing toilet… All these are luxuries of a hotel room which you can now enjoy anywhere. And even though a tent is more packable, you can now make the most beautiful landscape your backyard, because Ecocapsule fits into a standard shipping container and can be transported worldwide. The final price has not been announced yet, but Nice Architects, the designers, have stated that the first Ecocapsules will be ready by early 2016.
