We’re all aware of the difficulty in keeping fit during the winter season. The clocks go back and the cold seeps in; all we can really think about is burrowing into our sofa by a warm fire; watching millions of movies wrapped up in blankets; or spending countless afternoons with friends in the local pub. This November we’ve decided to help you out and get you up-to-date on this months best fitness events in the capital.

On Wednesday, November 11th, thousands of runners in over 50 cities worldwide will pull on their running shoes and red flashing armbands in Run in the Dark, a great run through Battersea Park to raise money to find a cure for paralysis. Choose between two laps (5k) or four laps (10k) of the Battersea Park course, and enjoy the liberating feeling of running in the dark.

Once again, the Open Wheel is hosting a free 20-mile cycle ride in London suitable for all abilities and levels. It’s a laid-back event free of timing equipment, signage or maps. The ride starts and finishes at Dalston, and there’s the chance to have breakfast and a coffee with other riders when you’re done. Any interested cyclers should head over to Gillet Square, Dalston, on the 14th November at 7.45 for an 8am start.

For all our fellow yogis out there, this month you can spice up your yoga poses 42 metres above the Thames on Tower Bridge Exhibition’s high-level walkway. The 50-minute class starts at 7.30am and will be led by independent London-based Vinyasa yoga teacher, Sarah McFadden on the 18th November.

Contribute to supporting Movember and fundraising for men’s health by taking part in a MoRun. You can choose from either the 15th November run through Battersea Park or the 28th November run through Greenwich Park. Race entry is £22, 10% of your entry fee goes directly to the Movember Foundation and the rest of the entry fee covers putting the event on and all associated costs.
