Dreamlike Cornish cottages for magical wintertime escapes.
Enjoy the Christmas season in a cosy cottage within the beautiful surroundings of the Cornish coast.
We all need that weekend every now and then to disconnect from the continuous noise that saturates our day-to-day. With Christmas around the corner, we’ve put together a set of three perfect festive getaways.
First up we have the Fable, an enchanted fairy-tale cottage nestled deep within idyllic Poldark country at the end of a winding farm lane, very near St Agnes, and just three miles from the idyllic beaches of the north Cornwall coastline, with all its dips and curves through craggy cliffs and bays. The Fable takes you on a whimsical journey of Cornish indulgence, to a cosy home with picturesque rustic charm, surrounded by ambrosial English rose gardens and fresh sea air. It’s thick thatched roof harbours magnificent vintage interiors where the classic farmhouse theme flows throughout all four floors. In the evenings, conclude a scenic stroll by snuggling up beside a cosy hearth and enjoying some baked scones and clotted cream.
Next up we have the Elysian, another Cornish abode burrowed in the beautiful moorland village of Rilla Mill, and very close to the ancient market towns of Launceston, Callington and Liskeard. The shabby-chic, rural dwelling features a small lawn, bordered by fragrant beds and a climbing rose trellis. The summerhouse provides a peaceful haven from which to observe the moor’s wildlife, which tends to be made mostly of grazing ponies and endless views of purple heather or golden gorse. The neighbouring linhay is the perfect cure for writers block and a well of artistic inspiration. Stock the shelves and cosy-up by the sputtering fire wrapped up in soft sheepskins, with heaps of English cheeses and red wine.
Last but not least, we leave you with a majestic seaside home buried in an unblemished pocket of the Cornish coast, the Tempest. For all those sea view devotees, this salt-kissed cliffhanger will leave you utterly spell-bound. The open plan interior channels a palette of pastel chalks and charcoal beams, providing a stylish space for complete relaxation. The infinite views of the merging sea and sky, its bucolic tiered gardens, the hypnotic ebb and flow of the tide in the evenings and the soothing pace of life you’ll experience here will make you never want to leave.
