Imagine coming back from work on a Friday, and boarding a super yacht that same evening without having to leave the city or plan an expensive weekend holiday abroad, it sounds almost too good to be true. Well Londoners, with Britain’s first super yacht hotel, Sunborn London, now permanently moored in the capital’s Royal Victoria Dock, you can.

Catering to both the wealthy and the curious, Sunborn London offers its guests the opportunity to enjoy an exclusive experience: the luxury and privacy of an ocean-going yacht normally reserved for tycoons, pop stars or top footballers, combined with the quality and comfort of a top-class hotel.

The impressive 108-metre floating hotel incorporates 131 guest hotel rooms and 4 suites, all light and spacious, providing the ship’s guests with scenic river or dock views framed by large French windows. It’s Executive Rooms all lead on to a private terrace or balcony where guests can sit back and take in the summer air, or even take their breakfast.

Neighbouring the ExCel exhibition centre and London City Airport, the Yacht hotel provides a perfect retreat for business travellers, with a large auditorium at its centre, meeting and event spaces throughout, and the ship’s wheelhouse converted into a private function room.

We recommend you start your afternoon in the yacht’s Elemis Spa, which offers guests a calm escape from the racket of the outside world, and a convincing excuse to be pampered in a first-class private sanctuary. Continue your evening by having some pre-dinner drinks and gourmet bar dishes in the smart Sundown lounge bar. Expect modern and contemporary cocktails; international classics with a twist and a selection of seasonal house cocktails.

Finally, try some of Chef Pawel Motzek’s finest dishes at the Lands End restaurant, named in celebration of Victoria Dock’s original identity. The restaurant serves an array of the Chef’s signature dishes that draw their inspiration from the best of British, Asian and Mediterranean influences.
