Rolls-Royce WraithHaute couture on wheels.
The Rolls-Royce Wraith is a remake of its 1938 classic inspired by fashion, which provides an exquisite canvas for a seductive motoring style.
Coolness, high fashion, modern luxury, style, quality… These are adjectives that perfectly depict a city like New York… Or a Rolls-Royce for that matter. It is no wonder why Rolls-Royce Motor Cars chose the PRATT Institute, one of the leading art and design schools of the world located in Brooklyn, to unveil its latest creation: the “Wraith – Inspired by Fashion” today, in an exclusive event and via PERISCOPE.
Back in 2013, when the Rolls-Royce Wraith model was first presented at the International Geneva Motor Show, it was described as the most exclusive model ever manufactured. In the words of the British firm, it is the “most ambitious, unique and bold” model that has ever come from the famous Spirit of Ecstasy statuette’s factory, “the car that Charles Rolls would have chosen to drive,” a model that “satisfies the passion for innovation, engineering and adventure”.
Today, with Sir Henry Royce’s words in mind, “take the best that exists and make it better”, Rolls-Royce has remade a 1938 classic and created a car that “pushes the boundaries of design and engineering”. In fact, this new Wraith model is the most powerful Rolls-Royce in history; with a 6.6 litre twin turbocharged V12 engine, it delivers a mind blowing 624 bhp and needs no more than 4.4 seconds to get from 0-60 mph. Just take one look at the blood orange needle tips for the speedometer and power reserve, and you will realise that the new Wraith is a Rolls-Royce from head to tail.
Fashion changes like no other industry; every year timeless designs are reinvented to create brave new icons, style is constantly progressing. This is the very defining concept behind the development of “Wraith – Inspired by Fashion”, which includes materials, colours and textures acquired from the world of high-fashion.
Similar to commissioning a fine suit or elegant piece of couture, the journey of creating a highly Bespoke Rolls-Royce motor car begins at the marque’s equivalent of the tailor’s atelier, the Bespoke Design Studio at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, England. Here, the Designers honed the aesthetic theme of the car, drawing inspiration from colour palettes, materials and techniques used in the world of high fashion. The result is an extraordinary interpretation of Wraith’s characteristic blend of power, style and drama.
Every detail has been meticulously designed; natural grain leather, soft wool carpets… There is also a choice between three new exclusive wheel designs, and for those rainy English days, umbrellas are included in the door frames, of course. Should you wish to add more glamour, 1,340 fibre optics can be sewn into the headliner to create your very own star-filled sky.
Strength, power, quality, and uniqueness are all qualities inherent to every Rolls-Royce. The new “Wraith – Inspired by Fashion” provides an exquisite canvas to create a cool, daring and seductive motoring style.
