Strand CraftV8 Wet Rod: The luxury yacht of personal watercraft
Strand Craft's latest innovation, the new luxury personal water craft "V8 Wet Rod", will literally blow you out of the water.
In the same way that not everyone is made to sail, not every waterman is made for the new Strand Craft V8 Wet Rod. Sounds simple, yet this personal watercraft (PWC) is anything but that. With a customizable 16-foot (4.9-m) hull made from carbon fibre and epoxy, you can custom paint it and add wood and carbon inlays. But that is hardly what makes this personal PWC so special.
Founded by Kurt Strand, one of the brightest minds in design, Strand Craft is one of the leading companies in boats and superyacht construction. As they state, the company ethos is “driven by the pursuit of perfection and extreme attention to detail”… And they are not bluffing at all.
Featuring a 300-hp 5.7-liter V8 engine, its water jet propulsion system will reportedly take it up to a top speed of 65 mph (105 km/h), which is probably more than enough to get you from the beach to your yacht, if you happen to have one that is. If not, at least you know you’ll be the coolest sea captain around.
Of course not everything is about speed and power; leisure and ease play a significant role as well. Under the seat you will find an icebox to store drinks, presumably Dom Pérignon, while larger items will go in a waterproof luggage box. If you get bored and would like a change of perspective, there is an underwater camera that will show you what is happening in the depths of the sea below. Optional extras include a custom trailer, a sound system, a chrome engine dress-up kit, and GPS navigation.
The V8 Wet Rod is the ultimate PWC, it’s luxury on the get-go, designed for enjoyment and a little bit of showing off, you’ll glide effortlessly through the water like Neptune. Prices start at US$49,000 – a lot cheaper than Strand’s planned $25 million 122 super yacht. Don´t hesitate a get one, for Strand Craft really lives up to its word.
